Animal cruelty: Man force-feeds beer to a dog
Chumoukedima, Nagaland, October 5 (HBTV): In another heart-wrenching case of cruelty to animals, a video from Nagaland had gone viral on Instagram and Facebook showing a man force-feeding what appeared to be liquor to a dog.
The video shows an unidentified man forcing a dog to drink what appears to be beer. The video has left netizens furious who are now in an uproar demanding immediate action against the man from the police and authorities.
Liquor, including in beer form, are not safe for dogs. Like chocolates, liquor is highly toxic, and can potentially lead to alcohol poisoning, organ failure, coma, or death for the animal.
In a video reportedly shared on social media site Instagram by the Nagaland-based animal welfare group Noahs Ark Nagaland, the man can be clearly seen holding the dog's mouth open and pouring beer down its throat and closing his mouth forcefully.
The dog appears visibly distressed, struggling, and showing signs of discomfort.
At the time of this new being filed, the dog was reportedly well and in good condition.
At the time this report was going on air, there have yet to be any reports of arrest or official action against the man.
Noahs Ark tagged the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Dimapur (SPCA) and the Nagaland police to take the incident into account and punish the man for cruelty to animals.
According to information received, the video was purportedly posted by a Facebook user identified as one Aynul Haq, reportedly a resident of Naga United Village in Chumoukedima district.
Taking note of the matter, the SPCA of Dimapur informed that they were able to trace the video maker and was asked to explain the cruelty in the video. He reportedly explained to the SPCA that the person force feeding the dog in the video was in an inebriated state due to the festive season and that the person in the video was out of state. They were also reportedly told that the dog's owner reside in Dimapur.
The SPCA warned the video poster, who also filmed the video, against committing such cruel acts against animals. The SPCA claimed that the person who filmed the video was apologetic and that he had assured he would never commit such acts again.
