Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], September 13 (HBTV): Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Saturday visited a CRPF jawan injured in an IED explosion in Dantewada’s Satdhar forest area.
The blast occurred on September 11 during a demining operation led by the 195 Battalion along with police forces, injuring two Central Reserve Police Force personnel. Sharma identified the injured officer as Mukesh, who sustained injuries to his left leg.
After meeting the officer, his family, and doctors, Sharma said, ‘Mukesh of 195 Battalion of CRPF Dantewada suffered injuries in his left leg in the IED blast. He is out of danger. All foreign particles have been removed from the body and the operation was successful. I have left a number with them; they can reach out if they face any issues. All help is being provided.’
The Deputy Chief Minister admitted that IEDs remain a major challenge in the state and noted that the government is working on adopting advanced detection technologies. ‘IED is a big problem. We are working on all possible IED detection technologies across the world. If anyone has it, they can share it with us, and we will undertake procurement,’ he said.
On anti-Naxal operations, Sharma stated that very few cadres remain active in Chhattisgarh. He also noted that in Telangana, senior Maoist leader Sujatha had surrendered.
