MP: Bhopal AIIMS outsourced employee booked for plasma theft
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 4 (HBTV): An outsourced employee at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Bhopal has been booked for allegedly stealing plasma from the hospital, police said on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Ankit Khelkar. The action followed a complaint lodged by AIIMS management after they suspected his activities, according to police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vivek Singh said, ‘We received information from AIIMS management that one of their outsourced employees, Ankit Khelkar, is stealing plasma. When the administration became suspicious, they checked the footage and found evidence of suspicious activity. Based on this, the management filed a case against him.’
He added, ‘We have registered a case under relevant sections of theft against the accused and efforts are on to nab him. Upon his arrest, we will be able to determine since when he was involved in plasma theft and whether he was black marketing it or not.’
According to Singh, the police have also learned that the AIIMS management earlier confiscated some suspicious items from Khelkar, further raising doubts about his conduct. Following the confirmation from security footage, the management filed the complaint.
