CIA files unearth ex-US President Biden's cover-up of Ukraine's complaints on corruption

Washington DC [US], October 8 (HBTV): Ukrainian officials were left ‘bewildered and disappointed’ by then US Vice President Joe Biden’s December 2015 visit to Kyiv, during which he delivered a speech condemning corruption as a ‘cancer’. According to a trove of newly declassified Obama-era intelligence, Ukrainian authorities accused the US of showing a ‘double standard’ due to Biden’s family ties to the energy company Burisma, the New York Post reported.

In an unusual departure from protocol, the report detailing Ukraine’s displeasure was allegedly suppressed at the request of Biden’s then national security adviser, Colin Kahl, and did not appear in the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB), a senior CIA official stated, as cited by the New York Post.

‘Kahl would strongly prefer the report not/not be disseminated,’ wrote a correspondent identified only as ‘PDB Briefer’ in an email to the CIA on February 10, 2016. ‘Thanks for understanding,’ the message read.

‘PDB Briefer’ was believed to be Deputy Director of National Intelligence Michael Dempsey, who was responsible for briefing then President Barack Obama daily at the time. Dempsey reported to then Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has been linked to the Russiagate controversy surrounding alleged attempts to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency. Clapper is reportedly under investigation by a federal grand jury examining the involvement of former Obama administration officials in shaping the Trump-Russia collusion narrative, the report added.

The PDB, a classified intelligence product compiled from all 18 US agencies, is intended to alert the president to emerging crises and global developments.

Following Biden’s departure from Kyiv, Ukrainian officials ‘privately mused at the US media scrutiny of the alleged ties of the US Vice President’s family to corrupt business practices in Ukraine [which they viewed] as evidence of a double standard within the United States Government towards matters of corruption and political power,’ the declassified files revealed.

At the time of Biden’s anti-corruption address to the Ukrainian parliament, his son Hunter Biden was reportedly earning USD 1 million annually as a member of Burisma’s board.

The report and related email were recently uncovered during an ‘internal review of historical agency records and databases’ ordered by CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
