Washington DC [US], March 18 (HBTV): Actor John Krasinski is set to reprise his role as Jack Ryan in a sequel film titled Jack Ryan: Ghost War, following the conclusion of the Prime Video series after four seasons in 2023.

The film brings back several cast members from the Jack Ryan series, including Wendell Pierce as James Greer, the deputy director of the CIA; Michael Kelly as Mike November, a former CIA station chief turned private security contractor; and Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright, the CIA director, according to reports.

The cast also includes Sienna Miller, McKenna Bridger, Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge and JJ Feild.

In the trailer, Krasinski is seen performing high-intensity stunts and combat sequences alongside Wendell Pierce, indicating an action-heavy narrative involving espionage and global missions.

Jack Ryan: Ghost War is the sixth film in the Jack Ryan franchise, based on the fictional character created by author Tom Clancy.

Alec Baldwin first portrayed Jack Ryan in the 1990 film The Hunt for Red October, followed by Harrison Ford in Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994). Ben Affleck later took on the role in The Sum of All Fears (2002), while Chris Pine starred in the 2014 reboot Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Krasinski brought the character to streaming platforms with the series in 2019.

The film is directed by Andrew Bernstein, known for his work on series such as House, Mad Men, The Americans and Ozark. It is written by Aaron Rabin and Krasinski, based on a story by Krasinski and Noah Oppenheim.

The project is produced by Paramount Pictures, Skydance Media, Genre Arts, Push Boot and Sunday Night Productions, and will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.

Jack Ryan: Ghost War is scheduled to be released on Prime Video on May 20. (ANI)
