Los Angeles [US], November 17 (HBTV): Hollywood filmmaker Ryan Coogler is set to return to Wakanda, confirming that Black Panther 3 will be his next project. Coogler, who was recently seen in Sinners, shared the update during an interaction with Deadline.

Speaking about the highly anticipated sequel, Coogler said Black Panther 3 is his ‘next movie’, which will complete the MCU trilogy first led by the late Chadwick Boseman in 2018. He said: ‘If it were anybody but you, I would say, I can neither confirm nor deny. But we're working on it hard. ... Yeah, it's the next movie.’

In November last year, Denzel Washington revealed that he had been in talks for a role in the sequel. He said Coogler was ‘writing a part for me’ at the time.

Coogler earlier told Variety: ‘I've been dying to work with Denzel. I'm hoping we can make that happen. I've got every intention of working with him on that movie. As long as he's interested, man, it's going to happen. He's a living legend and a great mentor for so many of us. He's all about looking out for us now.’

Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed T’Challa, appeared in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), in addition to leading Black Panther in 2018.

The late actor will be honoured with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame five years after his passing. The ceremony will be held on November 20. Ryan Coogler, who directed Boseman in Black Panther, and Viola Davis, who starred with him in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, will speak at the event. Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the honour on his behalf. (ANI)
