Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 14 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted improvements in farmers’ welfare and youth empowerment during the Deendayal Upadhyay Smriti Mahotsav held in Mathura.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that farmers are now receiving timely payments for their produce and are benefiting from social insurance initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

‘Through various schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, 11 crore farmers, via INR 6,000 given by the government, have become free from the clutches of moneylenders,’ Adityanath stated.

The Chief Minister further noted that startup initiatives such as Mission Rozgar have transformed the lives of young people across the state.

‘The work of linking workers with their social security insurance scheme has been completed. Mission Rozgar, startup, and standup schemes have changed the lives of the youth. Today, Indian youth are not job seekers; they have the ability to be job creators,’ he said.

Adityanath also highlighted women’s growing participation in entrepreneurship, particularly in the readymade garment sector.

‘Thousands of sisters are leading their lives on the path of self-reliance through readymade garments and are an inspiration to others. If we are Swadeshi, then we are strong and self-reliant,’ he added.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. In a post on X, he described the late leader as a visionary who gave a new direction to independent India.

‘Today, we are remembering that great man who gave independent India a new vision. He acquainted us with those aspects of India and Indianness on whose foundation the “Developed India” is based. Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji has internalised the mantra of the pioneer of Antyodaya, the revered Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay ji, and has worked to make the impossible possible. Salutations to the sacred memories of the revered Pandit ji!’ Adityanath wrote.

Earlier, while addressing a press conference in Lucknow, the Chief Minister spoke about the major infrastructure transformation in Uttar Pradesh under his government, noting that metros, airports, and highways are setting new records.

‘When we came to power, there was not a single city in Uttar Pradesh where the metro was operational. Today, the metro is operational in six cities in Uttar Pradesh,’ he said.

He pointed out similar progress in the aviation sector, stating that the state’s airport network has expanded eightfold in just over seven years.

‘Before 2017, there were two airports in Uttar Pradesh. Today, there are 16 airports. The country’s largest airport will be in Gautam Buddh Nagar, and it will be operational by the end of this year,’ he said.

Adityanath also underlined improvements in road connectivity, asserting that Uttar Pradesh now has the best national highway network.

‘Earlier, we were far behind in terms of expressways, but with the construction of the Ganga Expressway, Uttar Pradesh will account for 60 per cent of the country’s expressway network, making it the state with the largest expressway network,’ Adityanath added.
