Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], February 28 (HBTV): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday hailed the launch of the City Gas Infrastructure Project, calling it a major step towards development and environmental sustainability in the state.
The project will provide Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to households and commercial establishments and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles across Raipur, Balodabazar and Gariaband districts.
Addressing mediapersons in Raipur, the Chief Minister said the initiative will benefit residents, vehicle owners and industrialists by ensuring affordable, safe and eco-friendly fuel supply. He noted that the system would help reduce fuel costs and positively impact household incomes.
In a post on X, he said the project will ensure pipeline-based PNG supply to homes and businesses in the three districts while making CNG available for vehicles, directly benefiting domestic consumers, drivers and industries.
He added that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Green Energy vision and reflects the state’s commitment to building a clean Chhattisgarh and contributing to a clean India.
Meanwhile, according to the state’s Economic Survey Report presented in the Assembly earlier this week, Chhattisgarh’s growth remains broad-based. At current prices, agriculture and allied sectors are projected to grow by 12.53 per cent, industry by 10.26 per cent, and services by 13.15 per cent, indicating balanced economic progress across key sectors.
