Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 22 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a Janta Darbar at the Gorakhnath Temple premises, where he listened to grievances raised by people from various districts and directed officials to ensure their prompt resolution.
During the Janata Darshan, the chief minister reviewed public complaints and instructed concerned departments to take timely action. In a post, the Chief Minister’s Office said, ‘When governance turns service into a resolve, then the state writes a new chapter of progress. For the past 8.5 years, Uttar Pradesh has been advancing on this journey of development, where governance is with the people and the people have faith in the governance.’
Earlier, CM Yogi Adityanath attended the 54th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Nephrology, where he highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s economic progress and cultural heritage. Addressing the gathering, he said more than 1,700 delegates had registered for the event, describing it as one of the largest nephrology conferences organised by SGPGI.
Referring to the state’s religious and historical significance, the chief minister said Uttar Pradesh has several major pilgrimage centres. He cited Prayagraj, Kashi and Ayodhya, noting that a grand temple dedicated to Lord Ram has been built in Ayodhya after 500 years and that the city has emerged as the world’s first solar city. He also said that Kapilavastu, associated with Lord Buddha’s kingdom, and Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his teachings, are located in the state.
Highlighting historical events, CM Yogi Adityanath said figures such as Rani of Jhansi belonged to Uttar Pradesh, while incidents like the Kakori train case and the Chauri Chaura incident took place in the state.
Emphasising the role of conferences in development, he said earlier governments had viewed such events as a waste of resources. He added that until 2017, Uttar Pradesh had only 17 government medical colleges across 75 districts, with poor conditions in district hospitals.
‘Today, UP has 80 medical colleges, and every district has a medical college. We have issued 5.5 crore Ayushman Bharat golden cards to the poor. Over the past one year, INR 1,300 crore has been provided to the needy through the CM Relief Fund. Earlier, UP was known as a BIMARU state. Today, UP is a revenue-surplus state among the top three in the country,’ he said.
