Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 27 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said investment was coming to the state due to an improved law and order situation, while targeting the Samajwadi Party over its remarks on the size of the state budget.
Speaking in the state Assembly, Adityanath said that if similar advice had been offered to the leadership of the Samajwadi Party when it was in power, the state might have benefited. He added that strict action would be taken against mafia elements illegally occupying residential or government land. ‘If any mafia forcibly occupies land, builds malls or centres for extortion and conducts illegal or immoral activities, a bulldozer will be used against them and nobody can stop that,’ he said.
Emphasising the importance of law and order, the Chief Minister said, ‘An atmosphere of security is essential for every person. Today, every person can say that investment is coming to UP because of the improved security environment.’
Taking aim at the Samajwadi Party, he said it had created an identity crisis in the state by becoming disorganised. ‘Naturally, when you are in the opposition, you criticise every good deed of the government. Around nine years ago, the Samajwadi Party was on this side and the BJP was on that side. If you had given the same advice then that you are giving today, perhaps this state would have benefited as well,’ he said.
Referring to internal disarray within the opposition party, Adityanath said, ‘Tu idhar udhar ki baatein mat kar, yeh toh bata ki yeh kaafila kyun loota.’ He alleged that the Samajwadi Party had become scattered and disorganised, leading to what he described as an identity crisis for the state.
The Chief Minister also claimed that the rule of law prevailed in Uttar Pradesh and that there were no communal riots. ‘There is neither curfew nor any riot now. Everything is fine in Uttar Pradesh. This is the new UP,’ he said.
