Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], January 31 (HBTV): The Haryana government has directed all hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme to install live CCTV cameras in their High Dependency Units and Intensive Care Units to enhance transparency and prevent misuse of funds under the Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

According to the order, mandatory live CCTV surveillance in HDU and ICU wards will strengthen accountability and enable effective monitoring of the implementation of the scheme across the state. The directive applies to all empanelled government and private hospitals in Haryana providing inpatient services under AB-PMJAY.

All Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries admitted to HDU or ICU, whether or not they are on ventilator support, must remain under continuous live CCTV surveillance. Hospitals have been instructed to ensure that cameras remain operational at all times in these units. While implementing the surveillance, hospitals are required to keep patient privacy in focus, with camera positioning designed to verify the patient’s presence and delivery of medical care without compromising dignity or privacy.

The live CCTV feed or access link for HDU and ICU sections must be shared immediately with the State Health Agency or the State Headquarters. Following the decision, the Haryana chapter of the Indian Medical Association has expressed opposition to the order.

Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met a delegation led by Ryo Murao, Managing Director and India Head of Mizuho Bank of Japan, at the Civil Secretariat to discuss strengthening economic cooperation and exploring new avenues for strategic investment in the state.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed interest in entering into a memorandum of understanding with the Foreign Cooperation Department of Haryana. Areas identified for collaboration included automobile manufacturing, education, financial services and the semiconductor sector, which is emerging as a critical area of global and national importance, according to an official release.

The delegation informed the Chief Minister that Mizuho Bank has relocated its Delhi office to Gurugram, citing Haryana’s progressive policies and robust ease of doing business ecosystem. They sought continued cooperation and support from the state government to expand their operations and investment footprint in Haryana.

Assuring full support, the Chief Minister said the state is committed to providing a stable and investor-friendly environment backed by transparent governance, modern infrastructure and skilled manpower. He added that Haryana’s strategic location, policy reforms and proactive administrative approach make it a preferred destination for global investors, particularly in high-tech and knowledge-driven sectors.

On the occasion, Nayab Singh Saini also presented a copy of the Bhagavad Gita to Ryo Murao and discussed its philosophy and message on duty, ethics and balanced decision-making. The Department of Foreign Cooperation is a dedicated Haryana government department responsible for the state’s diplomacy, bilateral and multilateral relations, and engagement with the Haryanvi diaspora, advancing the government’s vision to transform Haryana through a ‘Go Global Approach’.
