Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], February 26 (HBTV): Vishnu Deo Sai described the Union Budget 2026–27 as a decisive step towards building a developed India, stating that it provides a clear roadmap for inclusive growth, employment generation, and social justice.
He said the budget, presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Kartavya Bhavan, aims to bring every section of society into the mainstream of development.
“The budget places the aspirations of the poor, farmers, youth, women and the middle class at its core,” Sai said, adding that states like Chhattisgarh would benefit significantly from the opportunities created.
Highlighting key provisions, the Chief Minister said the budget strengthens agriculture and the rural economy through AI-driven technologies and promotion of animal husbandry and the dairy sector. He noted that the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj initiative is expected to boost local industries and handicrafts, generating employment in villages.
Sai said the budget also creates employment opportunities for youth through support for startups, MSMEs, manufacturing and tourism. He added that a stronger focus on tourism would enhance local economic activity, while measures to lower the cost of overseas education and travel would help young Indians access global opportunities.
Calling the Rs 10,000 crore allocation for the biopharma sector historic, he said it would make medicines for serious diseases more affordable. Upgradation of district hospitals, establishment of trauma centres and regional medical tourism hubs would strengthen healthcare services and create jobs.
He further highlighted women empowerment measures, infrastructure expansion, the semiconductor mission and tax reforms as major achievements of the budget. Sai said the budget reflects the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh for presenting what he termed a forward-looking and people-centric budget.
