Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 19 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has inaugurated flats constructed under the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Housing Scheme.
These flats were built on land reclaimed from the mafia in Lucknow and will be allotted to 72 low-income families.
After inaugurating the flats, CM Yogi said, ‘I am fortunate that on this day (Kartik Purnima), I am here in Lucknow at this event of allotment of houses built on land freed from the encroachment of an infamous mafia.’
He was speaking at the distribution ceremony for allotment letters to 72 families from the weaker income group, who have been allotted houses built on land freed from mafia influence in Lucknow, along with the inauguration of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Residential Scheme.
Earlier in the day, CM Yogi took cognisance of the tragic train accident that occurred at Chunar Railway Station in Mirzapur district and directed officials to ensure immediate relief and proper treatment for the injured.
Expressing his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, the Chief Minister termed the incident unfortunate and instructed officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected.
According to an official statement, CM Yogi directed senior officers to rush to the spot and expedite the ongoing relief and rescue operations. He also instructed the State Disaster Response Force and the National Disaster Response Force teams to reach the site quickly and accelerate relief work. The Chief Minister asked officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured, as per an official release.
The tragic accident, which claimed the lives of at least four people, occurred around 9:30 am on Wednesday at Chunar Railway Station. Preliminary reports suggest that some passengers got down from the train on the wrong side of the platform and attempted to cross the main line despite the presence of a Foot Over Bridge.
