Imphal (Manipur) [India], March 24 (HBTV): Security forces and Manipur Police conducted a series of joint operations across multiple districts of the state between March 15 and the 21st, leading to the capture of 13 militants and seizure of a large cache of arms and explosives.

According to an official release, the operations were carried out across Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Chandel, Kakching, Thoubal and Tengnoupal districts, resulting in the recovery of 57 weapons, explosives and other war-like stores.

On March 15, Assam Rifles, acting on specific intelligence, apprehended five cadres belonging to the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) near BP 73 along the Indo-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district.

Later the same day, four cadres of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) were apprehended near BP 88 in Kakching district. In a separate operation, security forces recovered a pistol, an improvised mortar, eight IEDs, communication equipment and ammunition from the Boljang Hill Range in Tengnoupal.

On March 17, Assam Rifles, along with Thoubal Police Commandos, apprehended one PREPAK (ANE) cadre from Thoudam Bazar and seized ammunition, a vehicle and a mobile phone. Another PREPAK (PRO) cadre was apprehended from Canchipur in a joint operation with Imphal West Police Commandos.

In Thanga, Bishnupur district, the Indian Army conducted a joint operation with local commandos and recovered a rifle, a pistol, a hand grenade, a locally made bomb, ammunition and other items.

On March 18, a woman cadre of KCP (PWG) was apprehended in Kongba Uchekon by Assam Rifles and Imphal East Police Commandos, with a mobile phone and SIM card recovered from her possession.

On March 19, one active cadre of the United People's Party of Kangleipak was apprehended in Mantripukhri during a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Imphal East Commandos.

On March 20, multiple recovery operations were conducted across Tengnoupal, Chandel, Thoubal and Imphal East districts. Security forces seized firearms, improvised mortars, IEDs, grenades, detonators, communication equipment and large quantities of ammunition from several locations, including between Loisi and Saivom villages, Yangnoubung village, Thalem-Chingkhan Hill Range, Tentha Marongband, Lamdeng and Keirao Wangkhem.

Additional recoveries included pistols, rifles, grenades, smoke bombs, binoculars, wireless sets and INSAS magazines from Nongpok Sanjenbam and surrounding areas. In another operation at Champai hills in Sagolmang, security forces recovered rifles, pistols, ammunition and other war-like stores.
