Chumoukedima, Nagaland, December 3 (HBTV): The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has set up a stall at the symbolic Naga village, Kisama, in Kohima as part of the board’s mission to educate people on financial prudence. The board’s ‘SEBI vs Scam’ aims at spreading awareness about financial scams and helping investors protect their hard-earned money.
At the stall, visitors are learning to separate myths from scams. Misconceptions about easy profits, “too-good-to-be-true” investment schemes, or unverified financial advisors often make people vulnerable.
SEBI’s experts are at hand to guide people through these common pitfalls, helping them recognize warning signs before it’s too late.
‘For those who have previously fallen victim to scams or are concerned about recent suspicious transactions, SEBI provides one-on-one support. Experts patiently address your questions, review your concerns, and suggest the safest steps to recover and protect your finances,’ the SEBI stated in a Wednesday handout.
‘This personalized guidance ensures that no question is too small and no concern is ignored.’
Adding an interactive twist, the stall features a financial awareness quiz designed to make people “scam smart.” Participants get to test their knowledge, learn practical tips for spotting frauds, and challenge popular misconceptions about investments. It’s both fun and educational, ensuring that learning about scams isn’t intimidating but empowering.
By attending SEBI’s Myth vs Scam initiative at the Hornbill Festival, people can take a proactive step toward financial safety. Understand the difference between myths and manipulations, gain confidence in protecting your wealth, and walk away smarter about the financial world.
The SEBI stall is located in the area of the VIP Parking Lot, behind the Church at Kisama.
