Guwahati, April 08 (HBTV): An international delegation arrived in Guwahati on Wednesday to observe the polling process under the programme titled “Chunao ka Parv, Assam ka Garv.”
Speaking to the media after arriving at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, a member of the delegation said the visit is part of the International Visitor Programme (IVP). The delegation comprises 12 international representatives who have come to witness the electoral process and experience the vibrant democratic celebrations in Assam.
“This is a part of the IVP programme. We have 12 international delegates who have visited Assam to witness the poll process and observe the vibrant celebration of ‘Chunao ka Parv, Assam ka Garv’. We will share more details as the programme progresses. All our delegates are very excited about this visit,” the delegate said.
The delegates will be in Assam for two days, during which they will observe various aspects of the election process. They are also expected to experience Assam’s festive atmosphere during the democratic exercise.
The delegate further expressed optimism that the visitors would appreciate the spirit of celebration associated with elections in the state.
“They are in Assam today and tomorrow and will observe different processes of the elections. Everything is celebrated in Assam, and we hope they will enjoy the experience. It is a positive step that international observers are visiting the state to witness the vibrant democratic traditions,” the delegate added.
