Tamil Nadu, India (HBTV): Two 17-year-old boys from Nagaland were found by personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Ammor village near Katpadi in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. They were found reportedly stranded in a remote forest area near a railway track.
The rescued teenagers were identified as one T Nagampha and one A Tsemtun Kanyak. According to police, the boys had left their homes in search of employment in Kerala and were travelling by train.
The teenagers had initially travelled to Samalkot Railway Station near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, where they got down briefly. However, before they could re-board the train, it departed. They later purchased fresh tickets and boarded the Gurudev Express bound for Thiruvananthapuram.
Reportedly overcome by anxiety, the boys reportedly got down near Katpadi and began walking aimlessly. An RPF patrol team comprising Assistant Sub-Inspector P.R. Murali and Head Constable G Gopalakrishnan later found them in the forested area near the railway track between Walajah Road and Mukundarayapuram railway stations.
Following the rescue, the boys were provided with clothes, food, and necessary medical assistance. Officials said the children were in good health.
After informing the Child Welfare Committee, the teenagers were handed over to Child Helpline for safe custody, while arrangements were initiated to reunite them with their families.
