Washington [US], November 20 (HBTV): US President Donald Trump has announced that he has signed a bill directing the Department of Justice to publicly release all Jeffrey Epstein-related files, calling it a major step toward transparency.

In a lengthy social media post, Trump criticised the Democratic Party over its alleged associations with Epstein. He wrote that ‘Jeffrey Epstein, who was charged by the Trump Justice Department in 2019 (not the Democrats!), was a lifelong Democrat, donated thousands of dollars to Democrat politicians, and was deeply associated with many well-known Democrat figures,’ naming former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

He added, ‘Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed, because I have just signed the bill to release the Epstein files!’

The bill, known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, received overwhelming bipartisan support, passing the House with a 427–1 vote and clearing the Senate by unanimous consent. However, it remains unclear how the Department of Justice will release the files, or whether certain materials will remain sealed due to ongoing investigations.

Trump also used the announcement to reiterate his long-standing allegations of politically motivated investigations against him, while highlighting what he termed the achievements of his administration. ‘This latest hoax will backfire on the Democrats just as all of the rest have! Thank you for your attention to this matter. Make America great again!’ he wrote.

The strong support for the bill followed renewed public interest in Epstein-linked communications. Representative Clay Higgins, the lone lawmaker who voted against the measure, warned that releasing the files would ‘absolutely result in innocent people being hurt’.

Trump had previously urged Republicans to support the release, describing it as necessary to ‘move on’. His announcement also followed renewed circulation of a 2018 email exchange involving Mark and Jeffrey Epstein, which made a reference to Trump. In the email chain, Mark speculated to Steve Bannon about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had a compromising photograph involving Trump and ‘Bubba’.

The exchange had begun as a routine conversation, during which Jeffrey mentioned he was with Bannon, who had served as chief strategist during Trump’s first administration.

The ‘Epstein files’ comprise extensive records collected during federal cases involving Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and associated individuals. The material includes more than 300 gigabytes of data and additional media stored in the FBI’s case management system.

Among the documents is Epstein’s so-called ‘client list’, which contains references to several prominent figures, including Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Andrew from the British royal family.
