Noklak [Nagaland], February 5 (HornbillTV): In what could be termed as historic for the Khiamniugan womenfolk, the village council chiarman of Pathso Village under Noklak district has hailed Feb 4th as a day where women will get equal participation in all aspects.



The chairman said that earlier girls were not allowed in many areas in khiamniungan culture and they were not even allowed to enter in morungs while celebrating some festivals but today times have changed and girls can excel in every field. He was speaking at the 17th foundation day of Pathso village's cultural club cum khaozaosei Hokaa on Feb 4th.



The special guest at the event was Pritap Kaur, The SP of Noklak where the chairman stated that the poice officer is the real example of Women empowerment and a role model to show that women can achieve any height. Therefore he urged the parents to send their girl child for good education and help them make their careers which will inturn empower the entire society.



The SP, in her speech said that she was very happy the glass ceiling has been broken today and she congratulated Pathso village for the initiative. She believed that all women and men are equal and deserve equal opportunities in life.
