Agartala, Tripura, May 8 (HBTV): In yet another glaring example of social degeneration, an elderly man was found in his own house tied after his wife and his son allegedly tortured and abused him. He was found lying naked in a corner of his room with his hands tied.             

The victim has been identified as one Raju Biswas, said to be approximately 73 years of age.  

According to the locals of the Kanchanmala area, his son Mantu Biswas was responsible for the ill-treatment. The victim suffered fractures on the hand and waist.            

Sources said the victim was assaulted by his son two months ago too. However, the victim didn't lodge any complaint. 

Panchayat leaders have intervened and assured of action. The Panchayat’s Pradhan, Pradeep Kumar Majumder, said the incident was a gross violation of the man’s human rights.     

Majumder assured to take steps against the family. He also said that on Friday a meeting would be convened for further course of action.
