Imphal, Manipur, April 28 (HBTV): One person has been killed in fresh clashes at Kangchup Bethel in Kangpokpi district of Manipur. The deceased person has been identified as one Lammang Kipgen, from Molsang village. He reportedly sustained bullet injuries and succumbed to his injuries.    

The Committee on Tribal Unity has called for a 12-hours total shutdown in the entire Sadar Hills of Kangpokpi for what it called “the unprovoked attack at Kangchup Bethel area by the secessionist elements”. The committee claimed the deceased person was a “village volunteer”.

Gunfights were being reported from Kangchup hill range at air times.     

Just a day ago, two CRPF personnel lost their life and two other sustained injuries in an attack in Bishnupur district. The law and order situation in the state continues to be a cause of concern for the law enforcement agencies.
