Wokha to Mokokchung road: Administration issues travel advisory

The Wokha district administration has issued an advisory to travelers against travelling on National Highway-61 (old NH-2) in Wokha on way to Mokokchung but to take a different route.

Wokha, Nagaland, May 11 (HBTV): The Wokha district administration has issued an advisory to travelers against travelling on National Highway-61 (old NH-2) in Wokha on way to Mokokchung but to take a different route.   

To facilitate and allow for safe removal of rock debris which are said to be lying dangerously above a portion of National Highway-61 (old NH-2) in Wokha, the Wokha district administration has clamped travel restrictions along the passage.   

The rock debris poses a risk to life and safety of the travelers, updates from the government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) stated. 

The administration has informed that all vehicular movements from Wokha town to the Doyang Bridge in Mokokchung along National Highway-61, the Wokha to Mokokchung road, have been suspended. The suspension is from 4:00 PM of May 11 till 7:00 AM of May 13, the updates stated. 

During the restricted period, medium and light vehicles travelling on the Wokha-VK-Mokokchung route are advised to take the road from O Point-Wokha-Doyang-Sungro-Mamongtong to Alichen.
