Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 5 (HBTV): Two persons were killed and one injured following a motor accident on the Dimapur-Chumoukedima highway in Chumoukedima district on the night of March 4.     

Reports said the three were on a motorbike when it was hit by a truck at the first gate in Chumoukedima.

The incident happened at about 8:50pm on Monday night when the motorbike was attempting to cross an intersection on the 4-lane highway.      

The incident was captured on CCTV footage.

One of the three died on the spot, while another died at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research on Tuesday morning.

The three were reportedly going back home after donating blood to another friend at Zion Hospital.

Dimapur Police’s DCP Khekali Y Sema said the driver of the truck, one Manirul Biswas of West Bengal, has been arrested. He is currently in police custody and investigation is on, updates at press time stated.

Reports said that the driver initially attempted to flee. However, he was caught by the police.
