A community organization, Chang Khulei Setshang, has announced a temporary suspension of all existing restrictions in the Chang jurisdiction, effective from March 21

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 23 (HBTV): Following a resolution passed during the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization on March 19, a community organization, Chang Khulei Setshang, has announced a temporary suspension of all existing restrictions in the Chang jurisdiction, effective from March 21.

However, in a bid to maintain a visible symbol of solidarity and dissatisfaction, a directive has been issued for the hoisting of a black flag until further notice.

Updates stated some of the regulations from the organization in displaying the black flags:

They are to be hoisted in all government offices located in the district headquarters and sub-divisions in the Chang areas.

Business owners are instructed to display the black flags, measuring 24 inches by 18 inches, at their establishments. Residents within Tuensang town are urged to hang the black flags, sized 18 inches by 12 inches, outside their homes. Private vehicle owners within Tuensang town are also expected to display black flags, the updates stated.

This move is intended to convey a collective message of solidarity and discontent over what is perceived as the failure of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, in fulfilling its commitments and redressing the demand for a separate administration for the eastern regions of Nagaland, reports said.
