NDPP names former minister Dr. Chumben Murry candidate for Lok Sabha polls

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has decided to give the party’s ticket for the state’s Lok Sabha seat to former minister for Agriculture Dr Chumben Murry.

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 3 (HBTV): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has decided to give the party’s ticket for the state’s Lok Sabha seat to former minister for Agriculture Dr Chumben Murry.       



The NDPP’s parliamentary board met on March 2 in Kohima. A press release from the party stated that the meeting deliberated on the forthcoming elections to the Lok Sabha and the necessary preparations to be undertaken to face the elections. The board unanimously resolved to give the party’s ticket to Dr. Murry for the elections to the lone parliamentary seat of Nagaland. 



The party appealed to all the sections of the people and political parties to continue to extend support to the government and the consensus candidate in the forthcoming elections.    



Talking to HornbillTV, Murry expressed gratitude to the chief minister, the party and the coalition. He said the nomination for him is a heavy responsibility.     



The advisor to the Nagaland chief minister is a former minister for agriculture, and an advisor for Law and Justice.
