Five suspected militants arrested from along indo-Myanmar border; drugs, arms seized

The Assam Riffles have apprehended five suspected militants from along the Indo-Myanmar border. The security forces apprehended them at a place called Y-Junction in Chandel district of Manipur.

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 29 (HBTV): The Assam Riffles have apprehended five suspected militants from along the Indo-Myanmar border. The security forces apprehended the individuals at a place called Y-Junction under Chakpikarong Police Station in Chandel district of Manipur.                      



The arrested persons have been identified as a Thangkhonglal Haokip; one Manglemthang Thouthang; a Lethogin Touthang; one Lamminlun Haokip, and a Chungkhouhou Kongsai.               



A huge quantity of heroin locally known as ‘Number 4’ in 220 soap cases, weapons including a 9 mm pistol with magazine, two single barrel guns, 31 live ammunitions, four Khukris, two mobile phones, two foreign-made Kenbow bikes, and an Indian Pulsar motorbike were seized from them.               



The enforcement action came when the Assam Rifles got specific information about suspected activities from along the Indo-Myanmar border pillar number-48, which is located 14 kilometers away from Chakpikarong in Chandel district of Manipur.
