Sumzuiram, Peren, May 9 (HBTV): Members of the local community of Sumzuiram village in Peren district conducted on May 9 a protest rally expressing outrage for the alleged rape of a girl by her biological father.     

The Zeliangrong Mipui Organization and the Zeliangrong Students' Union of Nagaland conducted the rally at Sumzuiram village’s ground expressing outrage for the rape of a minor girl by her father, who has been identified as one Kanito Sumi.   

The culprit was residing in Sumzuiram village where the crime was committed, updates received here stated. He is alleged to have been raping his juvenile daughter for six long years.  

School students from across Jalukie-based schools and members of various students, youths, women, and tribal organizations attended the event condemning the alleged act. The community appealed to the law enforcement agencies to investigate and deliver justice to the victim.
