Wokha: Bhandari government employees warned against politicking

The Bhandari administration has warned government employees of the area against engaging in any electoral activities for or against candidates or political parties for the town's council elections.

Bhandari, Nagaland, May 19 (EHBTV): The Bhandari subdivision administration has warned government employees of the area against engaging in any electoral activities for or against candidates or political parties contesting in the Bhandari Town Council elections. The returning officer for Bhandari issued an official notice warning government employees against engaging in electioneering and has warned of strict action against them.   

The notice referred to the Nagaland Government Servant Conduct Rules of 1968 which bars government employees from being a member or being associated with any political party or organizations that take part in political activities, canvassing; or interfere using their influence with, or stand as a candidate.   

The administration has cautioned government employees directing them to maiunatin absolute neutrality and to do so. They are warned against participating in the political activities of or associate themselves with any organization. If any specific complaints are received, the government will initiate stern action against the government severnat and shall be viewed seriously for contravention of Rule 24 (1) (2) of the Nagaland government Servant Conduct Rules of 1968, the notice stated.
