Imphal, Manipur, April 28 (HBTV): The Election Commission of India has ordered re-polling in Manipur after fresh violence was reported during polling. The Naga outfit NSCN-IM allegedly captured booths in Manipur’s Ukhrul district and engaged in vandalism of Electronic Voting Machines during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 26.



The Election Commission of India has called for fresh poll in six polling stations of three assembly segments of the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency. The development came a day after the Manipur Congress committee wrote to the chief electoral officer of Manipur urging for fresh polls in 19 polling stations. However, fresh poll were ordered only for six stations.



Among the six polling stations that will now go for fresh poll, three belong to Ukhrul Assembly Constituency namely 44/20-Shangshak A; 44/36-Ukhrul (A); 44/41-Ukhrul (D-1); and 44/50 – Ukhrul (F).



One polling station in Chingai Assembly Constituency namely 45/14-Chingaiis will go for fresh polling. One polling station belonging to Karong Assembly Constituency namely 47/33 / Oinam (A1) is also going for repolls.



The polling will be held on April 30 from 7am to 4pm.
