Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 5 (HBTV): A Naga sculptor, Neivito Vitsu, has made Nagaland proud by bagging top honors in the clay modeling competition at the 7th Northeast Youth Festival 2024 in Tripura's Agartala. The event is said to have been conducted February 26 to the 29.

In the competition, the sculptor created a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi “symbolizing development”.

26-year-old Vitsu, who hails from Viswema village in Nagaland’s Kohima district, said that the participants were given three themes to choose during the competition. The themes were ‘save girl child,’ ‘environmental protection,’ and ‘development.’ He opted for the third.

Vitsu utilizes different raw materials and prefers using fiber.

Vitsu aspires to open a studio some day and receive support to advance his professional journey. He is also hoping to expand his horizons and explore new opportunities in the field of sculpture.
