“Frontier Nagaland territory” issue: Eastern areas resolve to stand by election boycott

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 19 (HBTV): The eastern regions of Nagaland have declared that it will not participate in any central or state elections as part of Eastern Nagaland Public Organization-led (ENPO) demand for a separate administration for the eastern regions.           



Besides, a resolution from a meeting that was conducted on March 19 in Tuensang stated to ask the ministry of Home Affairs to not entertain any suggestions with regard to the demand for a ‘frontier Nagaland territory.’    



According to a statement received here on Tuesday, the public meeting that was conducted in Tuensang resolved "not to participate in any central and state election and all citizen of eastern Nagaland shall refrain from casting vote."   This action is against the ‘failure to settle the offer for creation of frontier Nagaland territory by the Government of India,’ the updates stated.



Further, the statement declared that the ENPO will write a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs, not to entertain any ‘write-up/suggestions’ with regard to the “frontier Nagaland territory”. 



The house endorsed the ENPO to convene another public meeting along with all 20 Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union members within a week time at Tuensang, the updates stated.
