Harangajao-Balacherra four-lane highway to be opened in March

After seven long years, a stretch of road from Balacherra in Cachar district to Harangajao in Dima Hasao district of 25.25 Kilometres, is likely to be completed.

Silchar, Assam, March 3 (HBTV): The late prime minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee's dream project of connecting India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Saurashtra to Silchar as part of the east-west corridor project of Mahasadak now seems likely to be fulfilled.    



After seven long years, a stretch of road from Balacherra in Cachar district to Harangajao in Dima Hasao district of 25.25 Kilometres, is likely to be completed. It is likely to be handed over to the authorities by March 10.          



In the month of October 2017, the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited handed over this task to Susi Infracon with a target of three years. But, later, it was extended for additional three years.       



Susi Infracon's project manager Shyam Sundar Reddy informed that by March 10 next, they will be handing care of the road to the authorities.
