New Delhi [India], February 28 (HBTV): In a successful coordinated operation at sea, the Indian Navy and the Narcotics Control Bureau captured a suspicious boat that was subsequently found carrying almost 3,300 kg of drugs off the coast of Gujarat.

The Indian Navy said in a statement that the drug haul is one of the largest in terms of quantity in the recent times.

The suspicious vessel was intercepted near the International Maritime Boundary Line off the Gujarat coast in the Arabian Sea. The contraband, along with the apprehended boat and crew, were handed over to law enforcement agencies at an Indian port on February 27, it added.

The seized items included 3,089 kg of charas, 158 kg of methamphetamine, and 25 kg of morphine.

Based on the input of a P8I LRMR aircraft on a surveillance mission, the Indian Navy mission-deployed ship was diverted to intercept the suspicious boat.
