Agartala, Tripura, March 9 (HBTV): Police authorities in Tripura have detained a man allegedly for sexually assaulting a minor. A ten-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old man at Udaipur Banduar area of Tripura on Friday.            

The incident sparked outrage across Gomati district.                    

According to available information, the accused person identified as one Swapan Debnath, a resident of Udaipur’s Banduar area, allegedly raped the minor girl who lived in his neighborhood.                 

As the matter came to light, the parents of the victim lodged a police complaint. A First Information Report has been registered under IPC section 354, and section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.          

A team of authorities led by officer in-charge Alpana Sarkar arrested the accused following the complaint.
