Imphal, Manipur, March 22 (HBTV): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) in Manipur has said it will maintain ‘cordial relations’ with the ruling Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) in Manipur.            



The NPF, a crucial ally of the BJP at the Centre and Manipur, has declared its candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary seat of the state. The party handed its ticket to retired principal chief commissioner of Tax, Kachui Timothy Zimik, on Thursday.                        



Awangbow Newmai, the president of the Manipur NPF unit, and a cabinet member in the Chief Minister Biren Singh-led BJP government, spoke about the historical alliance between the NPF and the BJP in the past elections.                           



While the NPF maintains its alliance with the BJP, Newmai implied, specific strategies are yet to be finalized, indicating plans for discussions with the saffron camp regarding jointly participating in the election. 



Emphasizing the NPF's stance against corruption, Newmai reiterated the party's commitment to conducting a fair and transparent campaign focused on engaging with citizens and advocating peace and progress in Manipur and the Northeast region in general.           



As the second oldest regional party in the nation, the NPF's core objective remains the promotion of peace and development.       



Newmai underscored the NPF's dedication to fostering mutual respect and understanding among diverse communities, with a continued focus on advancing the welfare of all citizens, particularly marginalized groups.                                                        



Newmai urged all sections of the Manipur society to support the NPF's vision for peace and prosperity, emphasizing the party's commitment to promoting economic, political, and social equality for all.
