Washington DC (US) [India], March 20 (HBTV): The Walt Disney Company has announced the release dates of Incredibles 3 and Lilo & Stitch 2, adding two much-awaited films to its Summer 2028 line-up.

A live-action Lilo & Stitch sequel is set to release on May 26, followed by Incredibles 3 on June 16, the company announced on its Instagram handle.

According to reports, Incredibles 3 will be directed by Peter Sohn, marking the first instalment without franchise veteran Brad Bird at the helm. However, Bird will remain involved as a screenwriter and producer.

Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson led the voice cast of the first two films. While plot details for the third instalment have not been confirmed, the original film followed a superhero couple, Bob and Helen Parr—also known as Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl—attempting to live a normal suburban life with their children after superpowers were banned.

In the sequel, the Parr family works to restore public trust in superheroes as a new cybercriminal threatens humanity. The original film earned USD 630 million worldwide, while the second instalment grossed USD 1.24 billion globally.

In the case of Lilo & Stitch 2, Disney has not yet revealed details about the cast, director, or storyline. Chris Sanders, who co-wrote and directed the 2002 animated film, will write the sequel and again lend his voice as Stitch. The remake was helmed by Dean Fleischer Camp and was initially planned as a direct-to-streaming release.

After shifting to theatres, Lilo & Stitch became a major box office success, emerging as one of three Hollywood films in 2025 to surpass USD 1 billion globally. The original story follows a blue extraterrestrial creature who crash-lands in Hawaii and is adopted by a young girl and her older sister.
