Kohima, Nagaland, April 30 (HBTV): After facing intense protests from civil services aspirants and students, Nagaland government finally gave in to the pressure and revoked its order to absorb the absorption of a number of personnel in the education department.

The government had regularized 147 assistant professors and librarians, who were earlier appointed on contract basis. The protesting students’ community alleged that the absorption was done without undergoing the required procedures in the Higher Education department.

On Wednesday, Minister KG Kenye admitted that there had been lapses in the department, which was revealed after the High Powered Committee submitted their interim report to the government.
