Kohima, Nagaland, March 7 (HBTV): Minister Imna Along has addressed the ongoing agitation by the Sumi Students Union (SKK) which is demanding the upgrade of the Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu to an engineering college.

Speaking on the matter, the minister recalled his tenure during the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly when he was given charge of the Technical Education department for nearly 19-20 months. During that time, the National Board of Accreditation process was successfully completed—a crucial prerequisite for such upgrades.

Minister Along acknowledged the students’ concerns but stressed that the All India Council for Technical Education has strict criteria that must be met. He assured the students’ community that the Technical Education department would continue working toward meeting their demand. However, he urged them to be patient, as fulfilling these requirements is necessary for the upgrade to be possible.
