Wokha town, Wokha, April 14 (HBTV): A woman physically assaulted a ten-year-old boy on suspicion that he stole eggs from her house, on 12 April in Sanis town of Wokha district. 

 The alleged perpetrator is said to be a resident of Sanis town. Visuals being circulated on social media showed physical injuries on the boy’s legs, hands, back, and bleeding from the head. 

The woman, identified only as one Zubeni, alleged inserted a blunt object into the boy’s mouth too. The full identity of the woman has yet to be confirmed.

Speaking over a phone, the boy's father refused to file a complaint against the women and instead spoke about forgiving her saying it is the law enforcing agency that will take legal action. He refused to lodge an FIR.

It is learned that the woman and the alleged victim were neighbors and residents of Sanis town.      

A reliable source said the boy has been taken by the Child Welfare Committee of Wokha today and said to be in a shelter for medical care and counseling.
