Bandipora (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], November 12 (HBTV): At least 20 vehicles trapped in snow were rescued by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora, officials reported on Tuesday.



According to the BRO, the rescue was conducted through a joint operation involving a team from the BRO, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Bandipora district administration. The incident occurred late Monday night near Zadkhus Nallah and Razdan Top in the Bandipora area, officials said.



"A team from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the District Administration in Bandipora, rescued at least 20 vehicles that were stuck in the snow near Zadkhus Nallah and Razdan Top late last night," the BRO stated.



Snow has begun to cover the higher elevations across the valley, signaling the start of the winter season. Project Beacon of the BRO has initiated snow-clearing operations in several uphill areas.



Officials confirmed that the Bandipora-Gurez Road is currently closed due to snowfall.
