Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 17 (HBTV): The death toll in the Bulandshahr road accident has risen to nine after one of the three critically injured people passed away on Monday, Bulandshahr District Magistrate Shruti said.



Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced financial compensation of INR 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and INR 50,000 for those severely injured.



‘Nine people have died in the collision between a trolley and a tanker this morning. Ten people were referred to Aligarh, while two patients are in critical condition. The injured are being treated and discharged upon recovery,’ DM Shruti said.



She added, ‘The Chief Minister has announced INR 2 lakh ex-gratia for the families of the deceased and INR 50,000 for the severely injured. The government is ensuring treatment for the injured.’



The accident took place on Monday morning when a container truck hit a tractor trolley in Bulandshahr.



Earlier in the day, CM Yogi expressed condolences to the families of the eight people who had initially died in the accident. According to a press release, he directed district officials to ensure proper medical care for the injured and wished them a speedy recovery.



Meerut Range DIG Kalanidhi Naithani said, ‘In the morning, information was received that a container truck had hit a tractor trolley. This tractor trolley was coming from Kasganj, carrying about 61 people. The injured were sent to different hospitals.’



According to the Bulandshahr Police, the truck has been seized, while the driver remains absconding.



DIG Naithani further said, ‘Rescue operations are being carried out by a joint team of the DM and SSP. Relatives have been informed, and all teams—administration and police—are working to ensure that rescue and treatment efforts are carried out as best as possible.’
