Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 2 (HBTV): Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao on Sunday flagged off the 'Namo Yuva Run' in Raipur.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organised the run across 75 cities, with more than 10,000 participants in each rally. The initiative was held from September 17 to October 2, spanning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday to Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

The programme included two phases of blood donation camps — on September 17 across 1,000 districts, and from September 18 to October 2 at the Mandal level. During the same period, cleanliness drives were also conducted at schools, hospitals, railway stations, bus stands, temples, parks, riversides and historical places.

Earlier, on September 7, BJYM launched the flagship campaign NaMo Yuva Run – For a Nasha Mukt Bharat. Under the leadership of BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya, the event was described as one of the largest youth-led fitness and social responsibility movements in India.

The launch ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, Tejasvi Surya, fitness icon Milind Soman — who was appointed as National Run Ambassador — BJP National Media Co-Incharge Sanjay Mayukh, and BJYM National General Secretary Raju Bista.

The campaign unveiled its official registration portal, logo, mascot and T-shirt, symbolising the spirit of Seva, fitness, and a drug-free India. BJYM announced that on September 21, 100 simultaneous runs were organised across the country, each with at least 10,000 participants, mobilising over 10 lakh youth.

The initiative forms part of Seva Pakhwada (September 17–October 2), observed annually to mark Prime Minister Modi’s birthday, and reflects the vision of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047 through fitness, discipline and collective youth action.
