New Delhi [India], December 30 (HBTV): The Chhattisgarh Department of Commerce and Industries successfully concluded two Investor Connect events in New Delhi, highlighting investment opportunities in the speciality steel and tourism and hospitality sectors as part of its national Industrial Promotion Roadshow.

Organised in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Chhattisgarh, and FICCI, the events generated investment commitments worth INR 6,826 crore and are projected to create 3,037 jobs. The roadshow showcased Chhattisgarh’s investor-friendly governance, sector readiness and focused push towards industrial diversification.

A key highlight of the Investor Connect was a meeting between Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of APL Apollo Industries Group. APL Apollo announced a proposal to invest approximately INR 1,200 crore in new industrial projects in the state and also committed to establishing a 100-bed charitable hospital in Chhattisgarh.

Speaking on the outcome of the event, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said, ‘Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most dynamic investment destinations. The encouraging response reflects the trust industry leaders place in our transparent governance, simplified processes and the strength of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024–30. We welcome investors to join us in building a future driven by growth, innovation and employment.’

The Investor Connect underscored the impact of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, which has been positioned as a pro-investor and employment-oriented framework. The policy offers streamlined clearances, competitive incentives, sector-specific support and reliable infrastructure to improve ease of doing business.

Officials highlighted that the state is now focusing on moving from ease of doing business to speed of doing business. As an example, land for the state’s first semiconductor manufacturing project was allotted within 45 days, reflecting expedited and accountable governance.

Chhattisgarh also presented its advantages in raw material availability, skilled manpower, dependable power supply and logistics connectivity. Investors expressed interest in alloy steel, value-added steel and downstream manufacturing. To encourage employment generation, the state offers employment-linked incentives, including a 30 per cent capital subsidy with an employment multiplier ranging from 1.1x to 1.5x, along with customised incentive packages for large projects involving investments of INR 1,000 crore or generation of 1,000 jobs.

The Tourism Investor Connect highlighted opportunities in eco-tourism, adventure tourism, spiritual circuits, cultural destinations and premium hospitality. Investor confidence was supported by the grant of industry status to tourism under the Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, the state’s homestay policy and enhanced incentives for projects in Bastar and Sarguja.

Chhattisgarh’s growing identity as the ‘Instagrammable State of India’ also drew interest from hospitality brands, developers and tourism entrepreneurs. Officials said that within one year of launching the Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, the state has attracted investment intentions worth INR 7.83 lakh crore across sectors.

With growth in manufacturing, including speciality steel, metals, engineering, electronics and food processing, and rising activity in services such as tourism, hospitality, IT, logistics and healthcare, Chhattisgarh is positioning itself as an emerging investment hub. The state government said it remains focused on facilitating approvals and converting investment commitments into on-ground projects to drive employment and sustainable development. (ANI)
