Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], December 16 (HBTV): Chhattisgarh Police arrested seven Maoists in two separate operations conducted by Naimed and Bhopalpatnam police units, recovering explosive materials from their possession, officials said.

In the first operation, a joint team of Naimed Police Station and COBRA 210 arrested five Maoist suspects during a search operation in the Kandaka–Japeli forest area. The arrested individuals were identified as Kamalu Oyam (33), Laxman Ursa (30), Lekam Ayatu (34), Lachhu Oyam (39) and Pandru Ursa (31). Police said tiffin bombs, cordex wire and other explosive materials were recovered from their possession.

In a separate operation, Bhopalpatnam police arrested two Maoist associates during a vehicle check on the Mattimarka road. The accused were identified as Mad Laxminarayan (20) and Laxman Chidem (21). Police recovered one tiffin bomb, a detonator, electric wire and cordex wire from them.

Further investigation is underway in both cases, officials said. (ANI)
