Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], March 6 (HBTV): The governors of West Bengal and the Union Territory of Ladakh have resigned.

C. V. Ananda Bose on Thursday resigned from the post of Governor of West Bengal after sending his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu.

The Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Governor confirmed the development.

'Governor C. V. Ananda Bose has resigned from his post and has sent his resignation letter to the President of India,' the OSD to the Governor said.

Following the development, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed shock over the sudden resignation of Bose and said she had not been consulted regarding the appointment of his successor, R. N. Ravi.

In Ladakh as well, the Union Territory’s Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta resigned from the post on Thursday, according to sources.

Gupta was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh on July 14, 2025, after President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of his predecessor, B. D. Mishra.
