Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], July 23 (HBTV): The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested four individuals with alleged links to Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), officials said on Wednesday.



The accused have been identified as Mohd Faiq from Delhi, Mohd Fardeen from Ahmedabad, Sefullah Kureshi from Modasa in Aravalli district, and Zeeshan Ali from Noida in Uttar Pradesh.



Confirming the arrests, Gujarat ATS Deputy Inspector General Sunil Joshi stated that all four suspects had been under surveillance for activities suspected to be linked to AQIS, a banned terror organisation affiliated with Al Qaeda.



He added that the arrests were made following specific intelligence inputs and a coordinated surveillance operation.
