Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday strongly criticised the AAP, accusing the Delhi and Punjab governments of politicising the ongoing water crisis during peak summer conditions.

Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], June 7 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday strongly criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing the Delhi and Punjab governments of politicising the ongoing water crisis during peak summer conditions. He also expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) growing support in Punjab.

Speaking to mediapersons in Chandigarh, Saini said, ‘Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Haryana and Delhi governments will implement works on the ground. Water consumption increases during the summer, and addressing this should be a priority.’

Referring to the inter-state water dispute, Saini added, ‘Earlier, Kejriwal's government was in Delhi, and his party is also in Punjab. They have done politics over drinking water. Even today, the hearing on this matter is underway in the Supreme Court.’

He went on to accuse Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of ignoring public interest, stating, ‘Neither Kejriwal ever thought about the welfare of the people nor is his Punjab government following the path shown by the gurus.’

Predicting a political shift in Punjab, Saini said, ‘AAP will be ousted from power in Punjab; there too, the lotus will bloom under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. The people of Punjab are also saying that drinking water should not be stopped.’
