Panchkula (Haryana) [India], September 28 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday flagged off vehicles carrying relief material to flood-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab from the State BJP Office amid continuous rainfall across the state.



The Chief Minister dispatched 15 trucks to Punjab and 10 trucks to Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to the media, CM Saini said, ‘Such situations of natural calamities should not be politicised. It is our duty to help people. Those whose houses were destroyed or whose families suffered casualties have been provided Rs 4 lakh in aid, and those injured have also been compensated.’



Commenting on the flood situation in Haryana, he added, ‘There is significant flooding in low-lying areas. I am meeting affected people and assuring them that we will face this natural calamity together.’



Meanwhile, in Punjab, Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian reported that 48 more villages, 2,691 people, and 2,131 hectares of standing crops were affected by floods in the last 24 hours. Three additional fatalities were reported from Amritsar and Rupnagar, raising the state’s death toll to 46 across 14 districts. Three people remain missing in Pathankot.



Minister Mundian expressed gratitude to the armed forces and disaster response teams. He said 23 NDRF teams were actively engaged in relief and rescue operations across multiple districts, with two SDRF teams deployed in Kapurthala. The Indian Army, along with other disaster response forces, continued rescue and relief efforts on Saturday.
