Karnal (Haryana) [India], July 15 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister's Flying Squad raided a gambling site in Karnal, leading to the arrest of 53 individuals, officials said.
According to officials, the team seized approximately INR 12 lakh in cash, 46 mobile phones, and several vehicles from the location.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar from the CM Flying Squad said that a man named Rinku, a resident of Karnal, was operating the gambling network. All those involved have been taken into custody.
‘They will be questioned and efforts will be made to reach the main accused,’ he said.
He further added, ‘Food and drink facilities were also provided to the gamblers here. A person named Rinku had prepared the entire setup. Everyone has been sent to the Gharaunda police station. Today, all the accused will be presented in the court.’
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, the Bhopal Crime Branch and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Bhopal unit seized 1.96 grams of LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) on July 2 and detained a 19-year-old youth in connection with the case.
Police identified the youth as Karan Sharma, a resident of the Chandbad locality in Bhopal. He had reportedly been ordering the drug online from Kerala and receiving it through postal parcels. Acting on a tip-off, authorities detained him as soon as he received the latest delivery.
