New Delhi [India], June 13 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated in the Maharana Pratap Jayanti celebration held in Karnal.
The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from people of all communities. A state-level function was organised in Salwan village of Karnal district, where the Chief Minister attended as the chief guest.
Paying tribute to Maharana Pratap, the Chief Minister said he was not merely a warrior but a symbol of pride, valour, and sacrifice. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from Maharana Pratap’s life and contribute to nation-building.
Several announcements were made by the Chief Minister during the programme. The Chief Minister emphasised that nations and societies that remember their heroes and martyrs progress towards prosperity. He said the current government has adopted a policy to officially commemorate the birth anniversaries of saints and national icons, unlike earlier governments that focused only on their own family legacies.
Paying homage to Maharana Pratap, the Chief Minister said such legendary figures belong to the entire nation. He noted that Maharana Pratap’s life embodies patriotism, unity, and brotherhood — all critical values for national development.
He described Maharana Pratap as a historical figure who never bowed down, making him a timeless role model. Recalling the Battle of Haldighati, the Chief Minister said it symbolised a clash between culture and power, pride and imperialism, righteousness and oppression.
CM Saini reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the ideals of freedom, equality, justice, and secularism, which, he said, reflect the legacy of warriors like Maharana Pratap, freedom fighters, and defenders of democracy.
He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, and guided by the mantra Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan, India is progressing toward becoming a global superpower.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to instil in children the importance of placing national interest first and protecting the country's values, culture, and Constitution.
